
Georgia O’Connor, 25-year-old boxer dead
British boxer Georgia O’Connor died at the age of 25 on Thursday after being diagnosed with cancer in January.
“For 17 weeks since the start of October, I’ve been in constant pain, going back and forth between Durham and Newcastle RVI A&E knowing deep down something was seriously wrong,” O’Connor said while posting a photo of her in a hospital bed in January.

“Georgia was loved, respected and ired by her friends here at Boxxer,” said her promoter in a statement. “Our thoughts are with her loved ones at this difficult time.”
O’Connor won a gold medal at the Commonwealth Youth Games in 2017 before turning professional. She won all three of her bouts, having last fought professionally in October 2022.
