B.J. Penn to open new Poi business
According to records from the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs in Hawaii, UFC Hall of Famer B.J. Penn is opening a business called Ono Poi Co. LLC.
The new business lists Penn’s legal name, Jay Dee Penn, with an address for Hilo-based Polynesian Management Corp., a business-management consulting firm.
Poi is a Hawaiian dish made from the fermented root of the taro, which has been baked and pounded to a paste.
It seems Penn is a huge fan of the dish, often posting about it on social media.
