The 39-year-old Yamaguchi challenged for the ONE Championship atomweight title on two separate occasions, coming up short on both opportunities. She is currently riding a three-fight losing streak, all by way of unanimous decision.
Kelly just recently competed in a grappling match against former UFC strawweight champion Carla Esparza. The two headlined the Fury Pro Grappling 3 show and it ended with Kelly earning a win by doctor stoppage as Esparza ended with up a nasty cut over her eye when she slammed Kelly to the canvas and the two clashed heads.
Kelly recently spoke with MyMMANews reporter John Eric Poli about g with ONE Championship, telling him that she is no rush to jump into MMA competition although she is expected to have at least one fight with ONE.
